The International Antarctic Centre provides an insight into the world’s most isolated continent, with a range of activities and attractions including little blue penguins, a storm simulation room, and the opportunity to ride in the Hägglund vehicle.

Featuring over 50 different animal species, the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve is a perfect escape into nature. Take part in the Ko Tane experience to learn more about Maori culture and the lives of Maori before European settlement. Open 9.30-5.30pm daily.

This museum opened in 1987, during the RNZAF’s 50th Anniversary, and aims to preserve and showcase New Zealand’s military and aviation history. 6 buildings make up the museum, and are home to historic military equipment, educational displays, and items obtained from enemy forces. 15 minutes from Christchurch Airport is internationally recognised Orana Wildlife Park. Take a visit to experience some native and exotic wildlife, and learn about the focus on conservation of endangered species at the park. This is perfect for all ages. Open 10-5pm daily.

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Christchurch on a restored heritage tram. The tour takes you to the several other Christchurch attractions, such as the Botanic Gardens and the Canterbury Museu.
