Next Generation ADR: Collaborative Resolution
Wednesday 23rd August | 4.20 pm
Speakers: Kate Wiseman
Overview:
Collaborative resolution is a formal dispute resolution process that improves processes and outcomes for everyone involved in a dispute.
It is enthusiastically embraced by all who practice it.
Like mediation, it was born in the USA. It is mediation’s natural progeny, requiring the involvement of two (or more) mediating representatives.
It is relatively new to New Zealand, where it’s used mainly in separation & divorce cases. But there is great potential for its use in a broad range of family and civil disputes.
It involves special training for those involved in working with the parties. They include lawyers, financial experts and counsellors. Mediators will be immediately familiar with the principles. There is potential for arbitrators, too.
Come and find out what it is, how it works and how it can be used to improve access to justice from the beginning across a wide range of disputes.
Be ready to contribute to the discussion and development of the next generation of ADR.
